Cheryl Campbell has been tve's executive director (CEO) since 2003. After graduating from Cambridge, Cheryl trained as a journalist on the Lancashire Evening Post before working for BBC radio as a reporter. She worked on screen for UK regional television channels Television South West and Tyne Tees and from 1988 - 92 was a senior reporter for the national commercial breakfast channel TV-am. In 1992 Cheryl moved to one of the UK's leading aid agencies, Christian Aid. Over the next 11 years she played a significant role in developing Christian Aid's cutting edge approach to communicating development to mainstream audiences. Cheryl was Head of Public Communications from 1995 and Head of the Broadcasting, Digital and Publishing Division from 2001 as Christian Aid put the developing world on UK television against prevailing trends. Jenny Richards has been tve's deputy director since 1994. A Cambridge English graduate and former print and radio journalist on the Sunday Times, Guardian and Time Out and BBC Radio 4, she joined tve in 1988 as editor of its monthly guide to environment and development films, The Moving Pictures Bulletin. From 1989-95 she coordinated expansion of tve's global outreach through the development of partner networks in Africa, Asia Pacific and Latin America & the Caribbean. In 2000 she was series editor of tve's first Life series, focusing on globalization and its impact and continues to lead on the development of new Life on the Egde series while coordinating tve's international work. A former trustee for the One World Broadcasting Trust and Panos London, she's served on film awards juries in Germany, Italy, Japan and the UK, including the Royal Television Society and One World Media Awards. jenny.richards@tve.org.uk

Tim Drew has been tve's finance director since July 2012. After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, Tim gained experience in various major plcs before moving to the charity sector in 2003. After six years of helping the International HIV/AIDS Alliance grow its income by 400 per cent, working both in the UK and overseas, Tim spent time as Finance Director of the Royal Commonwealth Society before joining tve. Outside work, Tim is treasurer of The Grace Eyre Foundation, a Brighton-based charity, working with people with learning disabilities and is a member of Sussex CCC. timothy.drew@tve.org.uk

 

Nick Rance leads on tve's work on the environment. He joined tve in 1994 as a researcher, writer and production manager, and since has worked on numerous tve productions, including coordinating production of the Earth Report series from 2000-2002, and overseeing production and delivery of short films and video news releases for organizations like UN Environment Programme, the Global Environment Facility and the World Health Organization. He has overseen the production of around 50 documentaries in the Earth Report / Earth Reporters series since 2006, as well as short film series including Champions of the Earth and Climate Thinkers. nick.rance@tve.org.uk

Matilda Mitchell is a freelance film-producer and fundraiser.  She originally worked for tve in 1995, after graduating from King’s College, Cambridge with a degree in Classics.  She left tve in 1997 to pursue a career in documentary production, but couldn’t stay away and has been working at tve again since 2009.  Matilda is involved in general fundraising and produces bespoke films.  She is also project manager on tve’s biomovies competition. matilda.mitchell@tve.org.uk

 

 

Rita Alfred is tve’s Events Fundraiser and Manager. Rita is an experienced journalist and television news presenter who came to the not for profit sector after 20 years working for amongst others, BBC news, BBC World ‘Asia today’, Carlton Television’s ‘London Tonight’ and Deutsche Welle Television in Germany. After 4 years as a senior communications officer for one of the world’s largest aid organisations, World Vision, Rita joined tve last year as a fundraiser.  Her main project for this year is to manage tve’s Global Sustainability Film Awards which take place in October.  Rita has a degree in French and Sociology and is fluent in five languages.  She has been lucky enough to spend time living abroad in France and both the east and west coasts of the USA.  A committed anglophile, she has always come back home to Britain after stints away.  rita.alfred@tve.org.uk

Chris Miller is tve's regional coordinator for South Asia Chris Miller took up his post as tve regional coordinator for south Asia in summer 2007. He joined tve from the US Agency for International Development (USAID), where he was country director of the Policy Development Program in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Chris's substantial experience in managing international development projects includes posts in external affairs and development communications at the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation. Anshul Ojha works with Chris Miller and is tve's programme executive for South Asia, based in the Earth Matters headquarters in New Delhi. An independent film-maker focusing on stories about socio-cultural dynamics, counter cultures and the environment, he works with tve regional coordinator for South Asia Chris Miller, coordinating activities with broadcasters and tve partners across South Asia. "My sensitivity and thought process comes from Gandhian models of development and economics and Neruda's thought," he says, while "my professional skills and experience range from ICT for development, and original content creation for radio, TV, photography and designing." aojha.southasia@tve.org.uk 

Munis Syed graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Delhi University’s Zakir Husain Delhi College and did an Advanced Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism and TV Production from New Delhi YMCA’s Institute for Media Studies and Information Technology (IMSIT). He started working in the media industry with NDTV India as an Assistant Producer, in 2007, and then moved onto freelancing in 2008 writing for new media.Munis joined tve south asia in January 2012. He works with Chris Miller and Anshul Ojha as project associate, as well as handling distribution for the region.Munis believes in the power of audio visual and thinks that the space for serious, issue related content in the mainstream media in India and in other South Asian countries is now widening.
