Bola Black, Traditional Rice Farmer – Nigeria

Bola specialises in selling Ofada rice for traditional African cuisine. This nutritious rice is indigenous to Nigeria, but most of the population eat cheaper imported long grain rice from the Far East. Bola thinks everyone should be able to afford Ofada rice – she wants rich industrialised countries to cancel Nigerian debt so that the government can invest in the necessary machinery and equipment to enable farmers to grow the local crop.
