It’s a material world — or maybe not. In 1996 leaders of five of the world’s major faiths, Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, Jews and Christians met in Assisi, the home of St. Francis, to make a commitment to conservation. They found that in reverence for nature they had more in common than they had supposed. Now their ranks are about to be doubled as five more religious groups join them in a meeting in Nepal’s capital, Kathmandu, in November. Sacred Earth uses beautiful and moving images to inspire viewers on the potential of a cross faiths pact to safeguard an embattled earth.
