Practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) have been a favourite target of the Western environmental movement which accuses TCM practitioners of endangering rare animal and plant species. As China’s economy booms, the demand for cures is rising fast. This film will show there’s a different side: the practitioners of ancient medicine claim to be a force for protection – their argument is that it suits no-one’s interests to see the natural supply dry up. In this film we examine both points of view before bringing the two sides together in an unusual meeting in Beijing, China.
