The bi-annual Wildscreen film festival in Bristol is a mecca for wildlife film-makers throughout the world, and is the venue for the second Earth Report debate. Following the format of the BBC’s Question Time, 150 film-makers were given a chace to quiz the heads of the four major spending environmental organisations. These bodies commit hundreds of millions of dollars to safeguarding biodiversity – but why is so little progress being made? Why isn’t there more emphasis on slowing human population growth? And why are they spending millions in hopelessly corrupt countries?
