Representatives from companies across the world gathered for tve’s inaugural csfa, a glittering gala event which took place on Thursday 18th October at London's British Academy of the Film and Television Arts.
Atkins took the award for the 'environment' category, with a film showing efforts to protect the natural environment around the development of the London Olympic Park. The winning entry in the 'community investment' category was from Grupo Bimbo – with a film showing the company’s values and its emphasis on improving quality of life for associates and the local community, including in the areas of public health, education, and the environment. In the 'inspiring good governance' category, the winner was New Look Retailers Ltd, with a film following the life of a Bangladeshi woman garment worker and showing what New Look is doing to improve working conditions. The Overall Best Film Award went to Grupo Bimbo.
The runners up were Bloomberg, in the 'environment' category, for a film on reusing waste to create art installations; Aviva India, in the 'community investment' category, telling the story of its project to collect over 950,000 books for underprivileged children in India; and GRUMA, in the 'inspiring good governance' category.
Launched in February, the tve csfa awards invited companies around the world to submit short films on their corporate sustainability initiatives in order to share best practice and inspire other to follow in their footsteps. When the competition closed, tve had received 17 entries – from North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia.
