What have zombies, dogs, mobile phones and planting trees got in common? They’re all subjects of the final 10 films for tvebiomovies 2011 . Out of more than 205 proposals sent in by filmmakers across the world, the judges last October green-lighted 10 ideas – film and animation – to go into production. The 10 films were made by filmmakers of all ages, from 15 up from Hungary, India, Ireland, Peru, Tunisia, Uganda, the Ukraine, UK and USA. In two months, the films succeeded in generating over 490,000 views.
On 1 February 2012 the film in each of our five categories with the most views won. Our five winners are Drops of Water from Tunisia, Recharge from India, The Unsettled Pygmies from Uganda, Don't Throw Trash inthe Bay from the USA and Dogs Need Trees Too from Ireland.
A special runners-up award was given to Clear Water from Hungary for engaging with its YouTube audience.
