A Winter Dinner
Saturday 3rd December 2011
On the 3rd December the Indian philanthropist Mrs Surina Narula MBE most generously hosted a glamorous winter dinner fundraising evening at her beautiful private residence, grade-2 listed Hyver Hall, to benefit the work of tve. The event proved very popular and was well oversubscribed. Some 60 guests enjoyed a wonderful champagne reception and delicious indian canapes, followed by speeches from tve's Lisa Aziz and executive director, Mrs Cheryl Campbell and a clip of our latest '0/10/20 the global generation' film trailer (looking ahead to a proposed tve documentary on the lives of children born during the earth summit of 20 years ago). Guests then enjoyed a lavish dinner, prepared by Surina's own chef who had been specially flown in from her home in India. After dinner Surina spoke at length about her charitable interests and causes and the plans she has to help tve further in 2012 . Our dedicated tve volunteers (led by Semona Auluk) then hosted the Live and Silent auctions and raffle. All proved popular and we're delighted to say that a good amount was raised on the night!
Deepest thanks go to Mrs Surina Narula, to our guests and all those who helped put together this great event – without such a solid supporter base, such occasions wouldn't be possible.
