tve appoints Nicole Itano as new Executive Director

Global media non-profit, tve, is delighted to announce the appointment of Nicole Itano as its new Executive Director. Now in its 35th year, tve is dedicated to inspiring change through powerful communications about people and the environment.
Nicole joins tve from WWF-UK, where she is Director of Media and Content. Prior to that, she headed Save the Children UK’s award-winning creative team. Nicole joined the non-profit sector after a decade in international journalism, where she reported from more than 50 countries for many of the world’s leading media outlets. She is also the author of a book about the global AIDS epidemic.
‘There has never been a greater need for compelling storytelling to cast light on what we are doing to our planet and give us hope that we can find a better way of co-existing with the rest of life on earth. I’m honoured to be joining an organisation that has been doing just that for longer than almost any other,’ she said.
Camilla Toulmin, chair of tve’s board of trustees, said: ‘We are thrilled to welcome Nicole as tve’s third Executive Director. The challenges facing our planet have only grown in the 35 years since tve was founded, making our mission even more important. Nicole brings to the role a global perspective, a passion for storytelling and a strong understanding of both environment and development issues.’
Ms. Itano will assume her new role on 11 October 2019.
